SAE Baja Suspension
As chief of suspension design for the Union College SAE Baja Racing team, I was responsible for the design, manufacturing, and testing of the suspension system for the 2024 vehicle. I performed kinematic analysis using the Lotus SHARK software package, performed FEA of structural components, and created a MatLAB Simulink model of the systems acceleration, position, and forces applied to key components over time through simulated terrain and impacts. The final system performed significantly better than that of the previous year, achieving a record of 27 laps through the SAE endurance driving event (compared to 12 laps the previous year) due to much improved reliability and dynamic performance.
