Modular Tool Storage
As East Branch Engineering grew their inventory of tooling, it was taking longer for the machinists to find what they needed. I was tasked with creating a system for better organizing a variety of end mills, inserts, tool holders, and other hardware. My final design was a modular, 3D printable grid system that could be quickly printed with a catalogue of pre-sliced files. Each component had matching codes that aligned with the company’s pre-existing Pro-Shop tooling list. These holders could be quickly moved between tool boxes, carry labels, and allowed for fast swapping of hardware between workstations.
